Contractor Requirements

Key Requirements — New 200A Single-Phase Residential Service

• NEC 2020 Art. 230: Service entrance conductors must be copper or aluminum, rated 200A minimum
• Entergy Arkansas Electric Service Standards: Meter socket must be Entergy-approved ringless type
• Meter socket height: 5'-0" to center of meter from finished grade per Entergy Arkansas standards (Section 500)
• Minimum 2 in. rigid metal conduit (RMC) or Schedule 80 PVC from weatherhead to meter base per Entergy standards
• 200A main breaker panel - BR series plug-on neutral, minimum 20 spaces (40 preferred for load growth)
• NEC 230.54: Service head (weatherhead) must be minimum 10' from grade if accessible
• Entergy Arkansas requires outdoor main disconnect at or adjacent to meter per NEC 230.85
• Ground electrode system: two ground rods (8' minimum, 6' apart) + concrete-encased electrode (Ufer) per NEC 250
